Product Use: BioactivityResmetirom (MGL-3196,VIA-3196) is a hepatic-directed, orally active, selective thyroidhormonereceptorβ(THR-β) agonist with an EC50 of 0.21 μM and a 28-fold selectivity for THR-β over THR-α.
MGL-3196 has been tested for the treatment of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia.
